Certificate in Aromatherapy - AROM (MSM)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Designed to cover a five month period,
this course provides all the background knowledge and
information needed to enhance your practice as a massage
therapist. Learn how to use oils safely and effectively to
benefit patients suffering from conditions such as stress,
migraine and PMT.
The course involves eight days tuition and
practical experience over the five months together with
assignments and compilation of a portfolio.
COURSE CONTENT:
Part 1 = Background
to Aromatherapy
Part 2 = Practice
of Aromatherapy
Part 3 = Role of
Aromatherapy in the treatment of stress
Part 4 = Case studies and
revision
Part 5 = Written and
practical examinations

ASSESSMENT:
·
Students
must complete the required number of hours of attendance, i.e. 4
weekends
·
Each
assignment requires a 65% grading to pass
·
All
assignments, including portfolio, must be completed
·
65% must be
achieved in the written examination and 75% in the practical
examination
Examination is by continuous assessment with
written and practical examinations at the end of the course. Students
who fail to attain the required standard may be asked to attend
further seminars until that standard is reached. Initially, students
work on one another but towards the end of the course members of the
general public, known and approved of by the School, are brought in for
students to evaluate and work on under supervision. Students also have
a portfolio to complete with records of treatments they have conducted
on friends. These are discussed with the students as part of their
clinical experience.
QUALIFICATION:
A certificate in Aromatherapy is issued once the
examining body is satisfied with a student's competence.
The
successful candidate can use the letters Arom (MSM) after their name
on completion of this course and apply for full membership of the
NAMMT.
FEES:
Total course cost = £650. Fees stand at an initial
enrolment fee of £60 (waived for existing students at MSM) followed by four monthly instalments of £130 by
standing order and an examination fee of £70.
Students may make payment in full at the
commencement of the course by cheque or credit card. Payment by credit
card incurs a 5% charge.
Fees
are non-refundable in the event of non-attendance. Fees are subject
to revision at any time except for students already enrolled.
Enrolment is deemed to have lapsed after 12 months of non-attendance.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
This
is available to anyone who has an existing massage qualification.
An interview or visit can be arranged for anyone who requests this.
